Rogério Fernandes Ferreira, speaking to the Expresso newspaper, comments the possibility of a new tax increase, spoken by the prime-minister, Pedro Passos Coelho, as a consequence of a possible rejection by the Constitutional Court of the austerity measures in the State Budget for 2014 and in the amending budget, submitted in March.

The partner and founder of RFF & Associados consider that "the  budget balance should focus on the cost and attraction of foreign investment to the economic growth and tax revenues.

Rogério Fernandes Ferreira states still that "this aggravation may go through IVA raises as well of other excise duties on the consumption or, acutely, through new tax rates articulations for this tax". And anticipates, even, being "Perhaps on the path for a single IVA tax rate".
