New Customs Tariff is not a barrier for the investment in Angola

21 March 2014 in Vida Económica

Rogério Fernandes Ferreira relativizes the concerns of Portuguese companies and considers that, with the new Customs Tariff of Angola that came into force the past 1 of March 2014, the Portuguese exports to Angola will continue to increase.

The Partner and Founder of RFF & Associados claims that the domestic consumption in Angola has been rising significantly and that the Angolan productive sector "cannot answer to all the needs of its market" and that this should generate "a Portuguese exportations increase to Angola".

The Tax Law expert of RFF considers that the main products being exported by Portuguese companies to Angola are, amongst other, machines, and appliances and food products. The Angolan Customs Tariff reform has the end of stimulating foreign investment and the installation of Portuguese companies in Angola, therefor these will be the sectors affected by the aggravation of the customs duties that affect this products.
